They are in good company-Australia’s new-year-old actor Geoffrey Rush witnessed, while Australia Day Council Chairman Adam Gilchrist, Governor-general Quentin Bryce and Prime Minister Julia Gillard took part in the ceremony.

Mr. Gilchrist told the new citizens that Australia enjoyed the quality of life that is “second to none”.
